Considering the needs and importance of the subject ‘Education’, Ambedkar College, Fatikroy introduced the subject in the year 1993 just after 2 years of the establishment of the college. Now, the department of Education at Ambedkar college is an important one as nearly 40% of the newly admitted students take education as one of their electives at the undergraduate level of study. The department of Education had been offering only Pass course until 2009.But in the year 2009 Honours in Education was  introduced vide Tripura University letter No F.TU/REG/AC/UG/03/07 dated the 2^nd July,2009 with 30 No. of seats .Till then the department has been running very well with permanent  Teachers. Now the department of education offers both pass and Honours course at the undergraduate level under  the affiliation to Tripura University ,Suryamaninagar ,West Tripura. Every year a good number of students pass out  B.A in Education  (Honours and Pass).Those passed out students   are engaged in the various professions and serving the nation in general and servicing Tripura in particular.
