All-round development of the individual through Education cannot take place without Games, Sports and Physical training. Because, education is a process of developing the personality of an individual covering all dimensions. Modern Education system aims for that and that is why games, sports etc. are the part of modern curriculum and they are called co-curricular activities. There is a saying “A sound mind resides in a sound body”. For making the sound mind curricular activities and for making the sound body co-curricular activities are very much essential. Hence, now a day’s every educational institutions lay equal importance on both of them.  

Ambedkar College, Fatikroy, is one of the higher educational institutions in Tripura, which always lays equal importance on co-curricular activities. Various indoor and outdoor games and sports are organised in the college for the students to take part. We have the facilities for indoor games like Ludo, Carrom, Chess, Tabletennis, Musical chair etc. and the outdoor games like Football, Cricket, volleyball, Badminton, Shortput, Javeline throw,Longjump, Highjump, etc. Both male and female students activitively take part in those games and sports. Besides that, the college authority has also arranged one well equipped Gymnasium in the campus. The male students of the college always participate in the physical exercises and body building for their proper physical development. All those activities in the college are run under the active guidance of the Physical Instructor Mr. Laxmi Kumar Chakma, who joined in the college some months ago. The P.I. of the college always inspires the students for co-curricular activities.

Since the inception of Ambedkar College, Fatikroy, it doesn’t have a playground of its own. Several forms of appeal have been made to the Government as well as the people’s representatives for arrangement of a playground at the college, but the result is yet to be achieved. Still the college authority has not stopped to provide the students with the facilities for outdoor games. Some parts of the college campus have been developed as small playground. Moreover, the college authority approached to the Head Master of Fatikroy H.S. School and requested for giving our students the opportunity to play outdoor games at Fatikroy H.S. School playground. Finally, A Memorandum of understanding (MOU) has been signed by both the Head Master and Principal in-charge. Now the students of the college have got a better chance of playing the outdoor games at Fatikroy H.S. School playground.

The students of Ambedkar College, Fatikroy are also very much interested in games and sports. Throughout the year they actively take part in the various events of games and sports. Besides that, “The Annual Sports Meet” is organised in the college every year with sufficient budget. Both male and female students take part in the various events of indoor as well as outdoor games. The students are also encouraged for that by awarding prizes and certificates for the first three position/rank holders. On the concluding day of the sports meet a programme is organised as ‘Prize Distribution Ceremony’ and the position/rank holders are awarded the Prizes, Certificates and Medals.

The students of Ambedkar College, Fatikroy, regularly take part in the Sub-division level, University level, District level, National level as well as International level sports competitions and win Medals and Certificates. It could not have been possible without the active support of the college authority. The Teachers, Students along with the Principal are working together for arrangement of all types of facilities for co-curricular part of education with active support of the higher authority. The result is regularly shown by our students by winning medals, certificates and prizes.

• Football team of Ambedkar college participated in Sib-Divisional level Independence Cup Football Tournament .
• Kabaddi team (Boys' and Girls') participated in Inter College kabaddi competition which was held in Tripura University .Megha malakar from Girls' team selected for Tripura University Team to Participate in East Zone Inter University Championship organized by APS university,Rewa,MP which was held on 14th Novebber;2017. Arun Paul from Boys' team participated in East Zone inter University Kabaddi (male) Competetion organized by L.N. Mithila University,Darbhanga, Bihar from 12.11.2017 to 16.11.2017.
